Juba Female Prison
The women’s prison in Juba is situated in the heart of the city, in front of the men’s one. About 60 women are held in: some of them waiting for judgement, others serving them sentences or, others else, they will be executed but they don’t even know when. They live all together in a court, “free” because there are no cages: the few red cells are for the lunatics and who killed someone is in chains. They can have children with them, they stay there until they are 11 years old and grow up with guards kids.
